Why the Garmin Is a Must for Runners

The Garmin 405 Forerunner rocks. It just does. But the software on its site are what really makes this watch stick out with the data it provides for your training and improvement.

    If you think that Garmin Connect is good, try SportTracks from Zone Five. (It is free, btw, with lots of people writing “plug ins” to modify and amplify its capabilities.)
    I have a 405 and love the data it generates. I was disappointed with the Garmin software (although Garmin Connect is better than Garmin Training Center, in my opinion), but SportTracks is just awesome. The graphs, the elevation (which I find to be more accurate than Garmin and there is extensive discussion on the web about various elevation algorithms, etc.)
    SportTracks makes my Garmin just an awesome device. Now, if it just had buttons instead of the bezel…
