Paleo in the News – again!

January 10, 2010

In addition to the Washington Post article a few weeks ago, here is another article in the NY Times about the Paleo/Primal lifestyle.

The article follows John Durant, an online advertiser who is age 26.  This was one of many paragraphs I enjoyed:
“Already, the New York cavemen are getting attention from the patriarchs of the paleo movement. One such figure, Erwan Le Corre, a Frenchman whom the magazine Men’s Health said “may rank as one of the most all-around physically fit men on the planet,” stopped by Mr. Durant’s while visiting the city in December. The men sealed their friendship with what both described as a bare-chested — and in Mr. Le Corre’s case, barefoot — run across the Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridges on a frigid night.

This is a fun article on the Paleo/Primal Diet I’m following because it comes down to this: you eat and play like a caveman.  It’s just that simple.  As for Mr. Le Corre, mentioned above – well, his results speak for themself (and the hauntingly beautiful music is worth it alone) and you can see why Men’s Health holds him in such high regard:

We can’t exactly perform these stunts in South Dakota – well, not in the winter time anyway.  Hats off to him and his strong feet for some of these moves.  Me, I’ll have to stick to my Vibrams, thank you very much.

Even though we are a week into the New Year, if you are looking for a new approach to trimming the weight and eating more familiar foods than tofu and fat free snacks, the Paleo Diet/Primal Blueprint approach is waiting for you.

Are you starting a new approach for the New Year – and care to share?

When I see something that has great science behind it – plus is fun – it’s easy to get enthusiastic.

I like to think of myself as an urbanite caveman as well here in DC. I’m quite happy to see the press picking up on this lifestyle some.
